“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another…”

1 John 1:7

God says it is not good for man to be alone. We are designed to be in community and fellowship with one another. What we accomplish in life is less important than the relationships we form in the process. Throughout scripture, we are commanded to “Love one another; Share with one another; Forgive one another; Bear one another’s burdens”.

Our goal is to provide an environment of hospitality, mutual fellowship and pastoral support to foster and strengthen healthy, loving and joy-filled relationships among the people of St. Peter’s.

What can you do to become more connected to the family of God?

Start by getting connected to His people right here at St. Peter's:

• Check Parish Life for Activities and Events, or go to Programs to learn about the latest Classes. You are sure to find familiar faces in every area.
• Attend the Newcomers' monthly coffees and attend the First Steps class.
• Look for upcoming small group courses in which to deepen not only your Christian understanding, but also your Christian relationships.
• Participate in special events such as:

    • The Talent/No Talent Show
    • Fellowship picnics
    • The Great Chili Cook-off
    • Trunk-or-Treat
    • Santa’s Breakfast & Festival
. . . and other events that benefit our special ministries for children and youth

• Fill out a pew card indicating your areas of interest and drop it in the collection plate. A staff member will be glad to introduce you to various fellowship opportunities.

We are better together and that includes YOU.  Come join us.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is one of the most important ministries of our church. It's how we respond to the needs and concerns of our congregation every day, and not just on Sundays.

There are phone calls with many pastoral concerns - some want their children baptized, some want to be married, and many call with all the other concerns that we as human beings have.

Other pastoral concerns may be bringing home communion to those that are house bound or in the hospital.  It may be going to the hospital and having prayers with someone who is to be operated on; sometimes it's just being present with someone who has suffered a loss, just being quiet to offer the presence of the church by our being there.

Pastorall care is not and should not be looked at as the exclusive ministry of the clergy!  Pastoral care is what many of you do and should do by virtue of your Baptism - Pastoral care is the ministry of all the church!

The one sure way, speaking for Fr. Charles and myself, that we can't offer pastoral care is if we don't know - we don't know you have been sick, we don't know that you've been in the hospital, we don't know that you've had a tragedy in your family.  We want to serve all of you - but we have to know.

Please know that every one of you are special and we look forward to sharing the love of Christ with each of you.

In His Precious Love,
Fr. Bob
